Greetings!

We're looking at a HUGE weekend in Flagstaff just ahead.  Between August 6 - 8, there are major festivals, concerts, art events, theater goodies and more.

It kicks off with First Friday ArtWalk throughout the streets of downtown Flagstaff - in addition to Movies on the Square. The new festival, The Big Red Pour, begins alongside ArtWalk and continues through Saturday at Wheeler Park, with headliners Blaine Larsen and Michelle Branch.  Also, Theatrikos opens the new comedy play, Laughing Stock, with showings Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Navajo Festival of Arts & Culture brings over 75 Navajo artists and performers to the Museum of Northern Arizona on Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday, the Arboretum of Flagstaff hosts the third concert in their Summer Concert Series with the Chris Burton Jacomé Flamenco Ensemble.

And here at the Coconino Center for the Arts, we're hosting the Opening Reception for Prelude to Open Studios (details below).

My question is: how are you going to prioritize all these great events?

Cheers,

John Tannous "JT"
Executive Director

Rachel's installation feeds off a memory slip almost all of us have experienced: seeing a face but, grasping for the corresponding name. Walk through, enjoy, and see if you can identify the faces of five people well known around Coconino Center for the Arts. Click for info.

Letters From the Creative Bureaucrat
Do artists need to struggle to create great artwork? Or is an artist more likely to succeed in a creative and supportive environment? FCP's John Tannous explores this question in his monthly column in The Noise.  Click here to read the article.
