Greetings!

Although 2011 was a great year in the arts, we at Flagstaff Cultural Partners are happy to be kicking off a new year. 2012 has much in store for those who love arts and culture. We're already looking forward to Dave McGraw & Mandy Fer's farewell Valentine's Concert, the 4th Annual Viola Awards, and Arlo Guthrie here in the intimate theatre at the Coconino Center for the Arts. Yes, Arlo Guthrie in Northern Arizona's finest listening room!

But I'm getting ahead of things. We begin the year at the Center with a January full of live music. John Reischman & Jaybirds return to Flagstaff on January 19. Top prize winner at the Guitar Foundation of America's annual international competition, Johannes Muller, gives a concert on January 21. And we host a Tribute Concert for Utah Phillips on January 25.

The 10x10 Exhibition & Sale opens this month, too. The show features 100 local artists all creating works in a 10"x10" square or box, with most of these original artworks selling for $100. That's 100 artists, 100 inches, 100 dollars... right as Arizona turns 100 years old. It will be fascinating to see the different approaches to this concept by so many of our favorite artists.

Here's to a fantastic 2012 for you and yours. May it be filled with the power of the arts!

Cheers!

John Reischman and the Jaybirds
in Concert
Thursday, January 19, 2012, 7:00pm

Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music presents John Reischman and the Jaybirds, a top-flight band delivering a fresh blend of original songs and instrumentals, old-time heritage, and bluegrass power.

The group fashions a stylish, elegant take on bluegrass that is at once innovative and unadorned, sophisticated and stripped-down, happily old-fashioned yet unselfconsciously new. A genial blend of story-telling and side-show humor provides the backdrop to their original songs, instrumentals, and newly arranged traditional material.

Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here. Tickets can also be purchased at the Coconino Center for the Arts or by calling (928) 779-2300. Advanced tickets are $18. Tickets will also be available the day of show for $20.
