Upcoming Exhibitions

The Four Corners unifies the cultures and territories of the southwestern United States, similar to the four corners of a quilt joining together layers of fabric. Quilts were considered a treasured commodity on the frontier, and throughout history different cultures have adopted the quilt as a form of utility and expression. Four Corners Quilt Exhibition is a study of how quilters choose to manipulate historic as well as modern techniques for a contemporary audience.

Four Corners opens with a Reception on Saturday, June 8. More information.

Calls for Entry

High Desert Dispatches Writing Contest

Flagstaff Cultural Partners invites submissions for the High Desert Dispatches Writing Contest. Submissions are open April 15-July 15 and will be accepted online only at culturalpartners.submittable.com/submit. Please submit up to 6,000 words in fiction or nonfiction, or up to three poems. Judges are Viola Award winners Mary Sojourner (fiction), Ann Walka (nonfiction), and Jill Divine (poetry).

The contest is open to residents of Coconino County and members of the Hopi and Navajo Nations, ages 18+. A $200 cash prize will be awarded to each genre contest winner along with publication in one of the local art magazines. Winners will read their work at an event presented by Flagstaff Cultural Partners at the Coconino Center for the Arts or elsewhere. In order to cover program costs, there is a $10.00 fee for each contest submission.

Visit culturalpartners.submittable.com/submit for more information, submission guidelines, and to submit to the contest.

Please contact Whitney Packer with Flagstaff Cultural Partners at (928) 779-2300, ext. 107 or email at wpacker@culturalpartners.org if you have questions.
